Palo Alto Campus Hosts First In-Person Community Event

Palo Alto Campus's First In-Person Gathering a Huge Success

On Friday, October 29, our Lower and Middle School community gathered in-person to celebrate the KLSFall Festival at our new Palo Alto Campus. The joy of celebrating together was palpable as students, staff, and parents/guardians enjoyed an array of outdoor activities. The Fall Festival was the first community-wide event at our Palo Alto campus since beginning our first Term at the new space this fall, making for a much-anticipated opportunity for community connection and togetherness following a year of remote learning due to the pandemic.

During the festival, families, staff, and students rotated through various creative stations facilitated by our teachers and family volunteers, enjoyed snacks, and competed in games. Among the activities included an adult-versus-student volleyball match, a game guessing how many rubber bands need to go around a pumpkin before it explodes, a parade for students to show off their festive costumes, a station for hand-crafting marigold garlands, and egg and spoon relay races.

Everyone enjoyed taking photos with a magnificent fall balloon display, rocking out to music produced by our own Music Specialist, Jacob E.A.,and getting to learn about some very cool and slimy reptiles.

Many thanks go to our inimitable Family Association, Events Coordinator Donna Griffit, and family volunteers who organized the festivities. The Middle School Student Leadership Team also helped to plan and coordinate some of the fun activities. We could not have done it without you!
